Mary G. Veverka (Hewit), 87, died September 22, 2013. She was born October 5, 1925 to the late Arch and Emma Hewit of Seville, Ohio.

Mary graduated from Seville High School and Oberlin Business College. She retired from Westfield Companies and then went to work at Parker Hannifin in Wadsworth for 10 years, retiring at age 80. She was a lifetime member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Seville.

She belonged to the Red Cross and was a volunteer at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital. She loved antiques and tag sales, reading books and playing bridge. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her many friends.

She was an avid sports fan, following Ohio State, Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers, never missing a game.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Jim. Surviving are her sons Jeff (Kathy) and Kim Veverka; daughter Jenny Veverka; grandsons Mike (Erin), Eric, Doug, Darin (fiance Amber Hathoway) and great-grandsons Jacob and Larson and brother Bob (Beverly) Hewit of Seville.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 6 to 8 PM at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman Street in Wadsworth and Wednesday 10 to 11 AM at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9282 Acme Road in Seville, where Pastor Edward Kropa will conduct funeral service at 11 AM. Burial at Acme Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church or the Society for the Blind at www.societyfortheblind.org/.
