Thomas Neal Vorndran passed away on August 15, 2015. He was born in Cleveland, OH, on March 15, 1934 to the late John and Mary Vorndran, was raised in Willoughby, OH and resided in Wadsworth since 1964.Mr. Vorndran graduated from Ohio University with a B.S. degree in Architectural Engineering, while at OU he was a Varsity Cheerleader, a member of Phi Kappa fraternity and was Commissioned from ROTC, and served during peace time in the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant. Tom was a Registered Professional Engineer in, Ohio, Michigan, Maryland, Colorado, Kentucky and Washington.

As a Professional Engineer and Project Manager at Davy McKee, BFG Vinyl, and Babcock & Wilcox, he coordinated all phases of design, fabrication and construction of a variety of Iron Ore, Oil Shale, Vinyl and Steam Generating plants in the USA, Mexico, Germany and Canada. He enjoyed sailing, skiing, golf and time alone on the tractor mowing the grass. Architecture became a hobby designing many additions and homes, three of which he lived in. He was preceded in death by his wife Janet, his grandson Jonathon Neal and brother Jack.

Tom is survived by his children Thomas Vorndran Jr., Debbie Vorndran, Amy (Barry) Fernholz, Ben (Stephanie) Vorndran, stepchildren Michael (Darleen) Tittle, Theresa Romano, Leanne (Thomas) Walker, and David Tittle. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren Kevin, Jacob, Zachary, Clay, Renee, Nicole, Elizabeth, Barry, William, Ciana, David, Shawn, Justin, Joey, Drake, Holland, Christopher, Sarah, his brother Gary Vondran and former wife Anita Emerick and many friends.

The family will receive friends 1-3 pm Saturday, August 22 at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth.

Tom would say, “Accept things you can’t change. Do something about the things you can.”
