Rebecca “Becca” Lynn Ward

Wadsworth — It is with great sadness that the family of Rebecca “Becca” Lynn Ward announce her passing on December 16, 2021 after a hard fought battle with ovarian cancer.

Becca was born on March 30, 1994 in Wadsworth, Ohio to Don and Sue Ward. A graduate of Wadsworth High School, she went on to be a proud State Tested Nursing Assistant at LifeCare in Medina and Wadsworth Pointe. She loved to shop, more for others than herself, but above all else she loved to be with her family and took the role of adoring Auntie “Gecca” very serioiusly. Anyone lucky enough to have known Becca experienced a truly warm, kind hearted person that they will never forget.

Becca was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ivan Ward, Lynn and Mary Miller, and Helen Bell; aunts, Teresa and Deb; uncle, Larry; and cousin, Cory; and is survived by her parents; grandma, Shirley; sisters, Bianca Sterling (Alex) and Tara Ward (Dustin Farmer); niece, Faye Sterling; fiance, Chris Maresh; and best friend, Jessica LaGorga.

We want to thank the doctor and nursing staff at the Akron City Cancer Center for the love and care they provided to Becca and to the entire endometrial and ovarian cancer community that provided Becca with unending support, encouragement and comfort during her battle.

A celebration of life will take place in the Spring when we can all safely celebrate Becca together. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ovarian CancerResearch Alliance, web address: <> in her memory would be appreciated.
