Husband, Father, Grandfather and soon to be Great Grandfather Robert L. “Bob” Wellert
entered into heaven in the early hours of Tuesday December 8, 2020 after a valiant battle against an illness. Robert was 73 years old. He is survived by Judy, his wife of 55 years, his sons Robert (wife Michelle), James (wife Loriann), Stephen and Brian (wife Katherine), grandchildren Jeffrey, Sarah, Brandon (wife Jessica), Jenny, Julie, Kylie, Olivia and Bobby, great grandson Ashton, Sister Donna Schmitt and brothers Harold, Kenneth and David Wellert. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Lucy Wellert.Robert was born in Elyria, Ohio on January 1st, 1947 and graduated from North
Ridgeville High School in 1965 where he met and fell in love with, his high school sweetheart. He went on to attend Lorain County Community College and the University of Akron where he received a B.S. in Civil Engineering while raising a family and working full time. Bob was a Professional Engineer and Professional Surveyor. In 1980 he started Wellert Corporation, a Civil Engineering and Surveying firm in Medina, Ohio and was still working and running his company with the help of his family at the time of his death. Bob was an avid outdoorsman and loved bird hunting with his dog Daisy, driving his Mustang and working around his ranch. Bob was a devoted Christian and a long-time member of Reimer Road Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and watching their performances at school. He had a long list of personal and professional achievements in his life, but he was most proud of his family. He would never pass an opportunity to spend time with his children and grandchildren and always
went out of his way to assure they were safe, happy and healthy. He will be remembered by those that knew him for his life of dedication to family, hard work, generosity and friendship. A funeral services will be held at 2pm Friday December 11, 2020, at Reimer Road Baptist Church, 1055 Reimer Road, Wadsworth, Ohio 44287, Pastor Jim Newton officiating. The church will be open for a viewing from 1-2pm prior to the funeral. Graveside ceremony for immediate family at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth.
