Dennis (Denny) G. Wertz, of Wadsworth, went home to be with his wife Ardie, on March 30, 2011. Born December 10, 1936 to the late Clarence and Madeline Wertz.
Denny served in the US Army, retired from G.T.E. where he had been a lineman for many years. Dennis was very proud of the fact that he continued to live in the home in which he was raised by his parents.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ardis, whom he married July 7, 1984, his brothers Albert and Marion Wertz, and sister Willey-Anne Lemmon (Wiggy). He is survived by his daughter Cindy Campbell of Shreve, son and daughter-in-law Brian and Crystal Torrence of Shreve, grandchildren Jessica Roudebush of Wooster, Justin Torrence of Shreve, and Victoria Schmidt of Orrville and great grandchildren Kadence Friddle and Matthew Pinkley, many nieces and nephews, and best friend of 65 years, “Buster”.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 4 from 11AM-12 Noon at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth, where services will be conducted at 12:00 with Rev. Daniel Doty officiating. In lieu of flowers and due to Denny’s love of cats the family suggests memorial contributions to the SPCA, P.O. Box 135, Medina, OH 44258.
