Joseph D. West, 82, of Wadsworth passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011. He was born September 4, 1929 in Portsmouth, OH to the late Joseph A. and Emma West.
Mr. West was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served during the Korean Conflict and was retired from Westfield Insurance Co. after 27 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Madeline McPike and two sisters Zellner Simpson and Virginia Minch.
He is survived by his wife Claudette, son and daughter in law David and Lori West of Salinas, CA, two daughters and sons in law Leigh Ann and Walter Sandmann of Wadsworth and Chris and Jim McPike of North Ridgeville, OH.
There are five grandchildren Jessica (Jerod) Stewart, Cameron West, Erin Goff, Stephanie Goff, Kelsey Sandmann and two great grandchildren; Lauren and Sean Stewart.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00AM Thursday with Pastor Thomas Zucconi officiating.
