Ernie L. Wilcox, 88, died Sunday, August 10, 2014 unexpectedly at Medina Hospital. He was born December 28, 1925 in Bethesda, Ohio.

A longtime area resident, he proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII and retired from East Ohio Gas after more than 35 years of dedicated service.

Preceded in death by his wife Wanda, he is survived by his children Brent (Vickie) Wilcox of Wadsworth, Jody (Tom) Clarkson of Seville, Tim (Nancy) Wilcox of Florida and Terry (Cindy) Wilcox of Florida; grandchildren Amy (Jeremy) Eby of Seville, Rebecca (Lani) Clarkson of North Carolina, Sarah (Adam) Bishop of Brunswick; Josh (Melissa) Wilcox of Barberton, Rachel (Bill) Durbin of Barberton and Tim wilcox of Florida; great-grandchildren Olivia and Travis Eby, Chael Bishop, Isaiah and Liam Durbin and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday 4 to 8 PM at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman Street in Wadsworth, where Pastor Brian Cowan will conduct funeral service Friday at 11 AM. Committal service with full military honors will be conducted Friday 9:30 AM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, please meet and form procession at the funeral home at 8:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sharon Fire and Rescue.
