Jim Wilhite was born on February 22, 1927 and died January 4, 2012 surrounded by his loving wife and family after a long illness and courageous fight. The family was so amazed at his incredible strength. He was preceded in death by his father, Enza, mother Fern and son Bobby. He is survived by the love of his life of 62 years, wife Barbara and his children Jimmy, Marcy (Steve) Baker, Danny, Judy, Angela (Rich) Robinson, Eddie (Kim), Anita (Ben), Krissy, 24 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sisters Mary, Barbara (Don) LaChance, Margie and brother Frank(Brenda) and numerous family and friends,
A graduate of St. Vincent High School and Ohio State University, he was an outstanding athlete playing football and basketball. Jim was a WWII Veteran and the owner of Wilhite Painting Company for 63 years; he was hard working and honest. A devout Catholic , he was a member and usher of Sacred Heart Church. He attended mass daily and practiced his faith in all aspects of his life. One of his greatest passions was golf, where he was a member of Sharon country Club. His death was the saddest experience we have ever witnessed but the deep love that our family shares with each other brings comfort. Jim was the kindest, most generous man. he would help anyone in need. He was everything to his wife and family and loved by all. Jim was the light of our lives. Our shinning example of what it means to have 100% dedication to marriage and family, to love unconditionally, the importance of treating others kindly, the importance of God, the importance of caring and giving. The family chain is broken but we feel forever blessed to have had such a wonderful man in our lives. We will cherish all of the many memories and will miss him beyond measure. Jim was an amazing man and one of a kind. May you rest peacefully Jim we love you and will miss you forever. The family would like to thank all of the nurses and health care workers who took such good care of Jim. A special thanks to Linda, Mindy and Maria.
