William E. Powell, 74, of Wadsworth passed away May 8, 2017, after a brief illness. William was born December 7, 1942 in New Kensington, PA to the late William E. and Ann (MacFarlane) Powell.

William taught special education for 36 years in the Akron Public School System. After retiring, he worked 10 years tutoring at Wadsworth High School.

He is survived by his wife Sharon (Hartman) Powell with whom he just celebrated 50 years of marriage; children Christine (Don) Lorence and William J. (Melissa) Powell; grandchildren Cory, Josh, Alyssa, Megan and Matthew; sisters Nancy Stonis and Diane Perriello.

Family will receive friends 4-7 pm Monday, May 15th at The Hilliard Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman Street, Wadsworth, OH.
