Cortney Arden Wise, 75, of Wadsworth, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023. He was born on June 14, 1947 in McKeesport, PA to the late Ray and Marion Wise.

Mr. Wise was a graduate of Wadsworth High School, Class of 1965. After graduation he served as a US Marine in Vietnam. Cortney continued his service by becoming a volunteer Wadsworth fireman and EMT. He served on the Wadsworth Board of Zoning Appeals and was a former member of the Wadsworth Lions Club.

Cortney enjoyed going to car shows and he absolutely loved his ‘56 Chevy Bel Air. He worked many years for Akron Welding & Spring and in later years worked and retired from ABC Fire, Inc.

Cortney is survived by his wife, Janeen (née Beeler) with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage; son, Arden Wise; daughters and sons-in-law Amy and Shawn Kaminski and Melissa and Ervin Marcum; grandchildren, Joshua, Cortney III, Brittany, Brandon and Molly, and his great-grandchild, Miami. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 1:30pm Friday February 17, 2023 at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth with Chaplain Don Bolich officiating. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service from 11:30 am – 1:30 PM. Inurnment with military honors will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
