Clyde Ray Wolf, 89, of Wadsworth, died Friday June 18, 2010. He was born August 9, 1920 in Kenmore, OH to the late Ray and Estella Wolf. Mr. Wolf was a WWII Navy Veteran and was a self employed excavator. Owning the first backhoe in the southern part of Medina County, Clyde was contracted to dig many of the streets in Wadsworth. Clyde was a hook- line- and- sinker fisherman. He and Winnie hosted many fish frys to celebrate his big catches. Clyde retired at age 55 from his excavating business. He and Winnie moved to the upper peninsula of Michigan where he enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, and snowmobiling.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife Winnie (nee Thompson) with whom he would have celebrated 66 years of marriage in August 2010, daughters Peggy Snyder (David) of Sharon Twp., Janie Parish (David) of Medina and son Ray (Dawn) Wolf of Wadsworth. There are six grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
Mr. Wolf was preceded in death by his daughter Diana McClelland, granddaughter Emily Ann brothers Jack and Bob Wolf and sister Jean Cuschleg.
The family will receive friends 9-10 AM Wednesday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where funeral services will be conducted 10:00 AM Wednesday with Rev. John Bassman officiating. Interment will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
