Terrance Dale Yancer died peacefully on a beautiful fall day on October 24, 2023 ending a five-year battle with lung cancer.  He is survived by the love of his life Karen, his three children, Laura DeSio (Blair DeSio), Sean Yancer and Kathleen Graves (Dan Graves), and grandchildren Million DeSio, Isla Graves, and James DeSio.  Born on Valentine’s Day, 1949, in Westlake, Ohio, Terry grew up a huge fan of farming, the outdoors, and fast cars with his mother Gwendolyn, father George, sister Shirley and brothers Bill and Bob.  He answered his nation’s calling when he enlisted in the United States Army in 1970 and traveled to Vietnam as a cryptologist.  Before leaving for Vietnam, he married his high school sweetheart in a beautiful ceremony on August 8, 1970.  Once returning, he and Karen briefly lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado before leaving the military as a Seargent and buying their home in Wadsworth, Ohio where they raised their three children.  Terry found his peace outside as a weekend farmer, tinkering with his farm equipment, caring for the horses, and grooming his beautiful property.  He did this to the end, making sure the front yard was free of leaves and clutter and sitting on his back deck listening to music with his favorite person, his wife.

Terry was a lover of vintage cars, collies, John Deere tractors, and most of all, his family.  A private grave-side service will be held at Wester Reserve National Cemetery on Friday, November 3, honoring his service and his life.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to LifeCare Hospice in Wooster, Ohio (https://www.ohioshospicelifecare.org/).
