Elmars (Al) Ziraks, 67, of Wadsworth passed away on November 1, 2018. He was born on June 9, 1951 in Lodi, Ohio to the late Leo and Jenny Ziraks.
He was a graduate and football star of Wadsworth High School, class of 1969. He was a proud veteran, serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1969-1971, and served as a Corporal First Marine Air Wing in Vietnam from 1970-1971. He retired from Olympic Steel after many years of loyal service. He had a love for target shooting, the Three Stooges, playing with his grand-dogs, working in the yard, lifting weights and watching the Cleveland Browns. He especially loved his family, close friends and playing with his grand-kids.
He was a father, a brother, a cousin and a good friend to many and was loved by all who knew him. He always knew how to make you feel safe and always put a smile on your face.
He is preceded in death by his parents Leo and Jenny Ziraks and brother-in-law Emerson Dale Stiltner. He is survived by his son Aaron (Jeanette) Ziraks, step-children, Rich (Gina) Shaffer, Julie (Tyler) Gibbs, two grandchildren Maya and Niko Ziraks, sister Rasma Stiltner and nephews Gary (Sara) Stiltner, Brett (Barb) Siltner.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday November 7 from 5:00-8:00pm at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman Street in Wadsworth. Reverend Daniel Doty will conduct funeral service on Thursday November 8 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
